 Incredible gusts of 100 km winds picked up an entire greenhouse and tossed most of the trees across the yard like paper toys today. Four hours later all damages were repaired and trees relocated until the spring....which is now...

Tsuga Mertensiana. Collected on Vancouver Island. Approximately 300 years old. Height 3 ft, trunk width at base 6.3 inches. First image after some light trimming, much more to come.

Mountain Hemlock #11

Collected on Vancouver island in 2007 at an altitude of apprx 4200ft. Roughly 200 years old. Several stylistically undesirable branches were removed, leaving the tree quite sparse. The last two years of growth have been vigorous and the tree is finally ready to look at again. The direction is somewhat obvious, it just needs some definition and more time.

New shohin mugo pines

Dwarf mugo pines. Exactly 7 years from cuttings. The needle length on these little conifers averages about 1/4 inch to 1/2 inch long. Trunk thickness is roughly the same. Height is 4 inches for the smallest and up to 6 inches for the larger ones. They will go into small ceramic pots soon where they will grow, very slowly, into fat little sumo wrestlers...
